KEN MAYFIELD

For nearly two decades, I’ve built a career at the intersection of art, engineering, and game development. My path into the industry began through game modding, followed by roles in Quality Assurance, environment art, architectural visualization, and technical art. That broad foundation has shaped how I approach complex production challenges today.

I specialize in bridging disciplines, working with artists, designers, and engineers to develop tools, pipelines, and technical solutions that improve both development efficiency and runtime performance. My experience spans AAA games, immersive training and simulation, and real-time visualization, with a focus on Unreal Engine, source control infrastructure, performance optimization, visual effects, and technical problem solving.

Rather than specializing in a single discipline, I’ve built my career by understanding how they all fit together. Whether I’m architecting source control workflows, optimizing content for performance, mentoring developers, creating visual effects, or prototyping gameplay systems, my goal is always the same: remove technical obstacles so teams can create better experiences.

Core areas of expertise include Unreal Engine, technical art, pipeline development, source control administration, performance optimization, real-time graphics, visual effects, scripting, C++, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
